The 3rd Generation Honda Acty was introduced in 1999. Honda Acty is a mid-engine front/four wheel drive kei mini MPV. The Honda Acty 3rd Generation shares the platform with Honda Acty Truck, a mini Kei truck that utilizes the same engine and general styling but houses a short flat bed in the rear. Production of the 3rd Generation Honda Acty lasted for 11 years and Honda halted the production in 2009. The price of Honda Acty was fairly competitive when compared to other cars in the same class available in the local market.
The exterior of the 3rd Generation Honda Acty features a fairly restrained and minimalistic design language. The front end houses square side swept headlights, a rectangular grille with multiple inlets, and dual rectangular air intakes with an outward sticking bumper. The sides house sliding doors. The rear end houses low bumper mounted horizontal rectangular styled side swept taillights and a large standard case tailgate. All variants of the Honda Acty feature identical styling in every aspect. The overall exterior of the Honda Acty features a relatively restrained and boxy design language.
The interior of the 1999 Honda Acty features the use of black and beige plastic trim pieces. The front two seats are covered in fabric. Standard features include air conditioning, power steering, power lock doors, manual window winders, a stereo speaker audio system and a tachometer. The SDX variant features rear bench seats. While the Town variant features rear airbags, more comfortable rear seating and standard 4WD. All aspects of the Honda Acty’s limited interior controls are finished in black plastic and operated manually. The overall interior of the 3rd Generation Honda Acty features a good amount of interior space for a kei car of its compact exterior dimensions.
